So much accomplished!

Wow it has been a long time since I have updated this! It has been a productive few months and I have SO much planned already!

We got our engagement photos done and those are up on facebook now. They were so much fun and very necessary since Spencer and I have about three pictures together!

We booked the florist and have the bouquets and centerpieces figured out :) We also figured out details like the table linens, chair covers and the set up of the tent!

We met with cake places and booked Nichole's Fine Pastry for the wedding cake. It was by far the most delicious cake I have ever tasted! Alicia, our wedding coordinator, found an amazing picture of a cake that we will be going with. It has a very unique  shape to it which I love!

Tessa Hiney, from Grand Forks, is designing our invitations and save-the-dates right now as we speak! They will be navy with some tiffany blue and charcoal accents with modern floral designs.

I am going to The Wedding Shoppe today to set up everything for the bridesmaids to order their bridesmaid dresses! They will be navy blue silk taffeta with v-neck front and back.

We figured out all of the food we will be having and are in the process of finalizing that contract!

I get to start making my registry this next weekend which I cannot wait for! My mom, Sara and I will be going to the downtown Macy's I believe.

Finally, Spencer and I are looking into different honeymoon options! That is a fun part :)

We only have 267 days until the wedding! Ah it is getting so unbelievably close and going by so fast. I can't wait for our wedding day <3

Reception Booked!

It's official!! We are getting married on the golf course outside at Oxbow Country Club and having the reception tent on the course as well! Spencer's mom, my mom and myself all sat down with Janelle and Don today to discuss plans of what we wanted to do! It feels good to make some progress. 

We have our next meeting next Wednesday to discuss the food options. We will then have the food tasting the first week of August! We want to try and get as much out of the way before I go back to school in the cities in the beginning of September. 

I am pretty sure our color scheme will be dark midnight blue with aqua! My favorite color is aqua, but it's too bright for me to be my main color. I found this combo in the latest Knot magazine and I love it! The bridesmaids will probably have midnight blue dresses, potentially with large calla lilly bouquets :)

We're Engaged!

I thought it might be fun to start a blog to let everyone know what is going on and I also thought it would be fun to look back on it later in life once we're married! 

Spencer proposed to me on June 20, 2011 at our home in Oxbow, ND. We've known for the longest time that we wanted to marry one another, so I told him the one thing I wanted was to be surprised. (and for it not to be in public :)) He listened to both and completely shocked me with the proposal! There is a funny story behind it, but the main thing was that he had me find the ring on our dog Mercedes... took me a while to find it though! 

The ring is my dream ring and is so perfect :) He did such a great job!

Now it is on to the planning of the wedding and it all has to be done in a little over a year because we are getting married July 21, 2012 :) We don't know many details yet, but it will be somewhere in Oxbow! My mom, myself, and Spencer's mom are meeting with Oxbow Country Club to book it for the reception on Monday! The rest of the week we will start working on finding a wedding planner. This will be extremely helpful since I will still be in Minneapolis about half of the engagement! 

So excited!!
